Craig Williams to ride in Japan series

SYDNEY Aug 15 2016

Premier Melbourne jockey Craig Williams will miss the first Group One race of the Australian season to ride in Japan.

Williams will compete for the ninth time in the World All Stars jockeys series on August 27 and 28, the weekend of the Memsie Stakes at Caulfield.

He won the series in 2007 and his rivals will include Hong Kong champion Joao Moreira, California Chrome's jockey Victor Espinoza and Christophe Lemaire who replaced a suspended Williams to win the 2011 Melbourne Cup on Dunaden.
