Arrogate set for record success

 Mar 23 2017

A brilliant Saturday night of racing at Meydan culminates in the Dubai World Cup where Arrogate will be heavily fancied to firmly stamp his authority and move further into the record books.

In winning his last six starts Arrogate has amassed an incredible total prize money of US$11,084,600 and victory on Saturday night would see him surpass last year's winner California Chrome's career earnings of US$14,752,65.

The Bob Baffert-trained four-year-old has been in imperious form winning his last three starts at Grade 1 level with a demolition job in the Travers Stakes before ending California Chrome's winning streak in a superb battle in the Breeders' Cup Classic and following up by beating him again in the inaugural Pegasus World Cup.

If Arrogate runs anywhere near that level of form then the stunning son of Unbridled's Song will win in commanding fashion as he moves forwards towards his ultimate goal of defending his Breeders' Cup Classic at Del Mar in November.

The Dubai World Cup night kicks off with three Group 2's before five Group 1 races in a row; the Al Quoz Sprint, Dubai Golden Shaheen, Dubai Turf, Dubai Sheema Classic and concluding with the Dubai World Cup itself.
