Huge month of Spring Carnival action

 Oct 3 2013

On October 5, the iconic Epsom Handicap is one of three exceptional G1 contests at Randwick, while Melbourne's top spring contenders collide in a pivotal distance event, Flemington's G1 Turnbull Stakes.

It's a G1 treble at Caulfield on October 12 featuring the $1 million Caulfield Guineas, plus at Randwick, top turf performers contest the G1 Spring Champion Stakes.

One of my highlights of the spring is Caulfield's mid-week G1 event, the Thousand Guineas on Wednesday October 16.

The G1 $2.5 million Caulfield Cup over 2400m must not be missed! Saturday October 19! If you have plans that do not involve this race – cancel them!
Spring racing at Moonee Valley heats up on Friday October 25 with the G1 Manikato Stakes, before a huge day on Saturday October 26 for the premier weight-for-age event in Australia, the G1 $3 million Cox Plate.

In international racing, October 6 is an enormous day of racing with seven G1's from Longchamp (FR) including the Prix De L'Arc De Triomphe, plus its Ascot's British Champions Day on October 19.

In greyhound racing, it's the G1 Adelaide Cup on October 10, plus eight canine athletes collide in the G1 Topgun from The Meadows on October 26.
