Singapore Racing - Weekend Review - 2nd & 4th of November

 Nov 8 2018

Lining up in the final event on Sunday, the Lee Freedman trained galloper followed up on his dominant win on debut, when again spacing his rivals.

Sent out the well supported $1.40 favourite, Jomo easily disposed of his rivals, leading throughout to score by 2.5L.

In similar fashion to his debut win, Jomo travelled well throughout and once clicked up he displayed a sharp turn of foot to put a gap on his rivals.

Although getting a relatively easy time in front, Jomo again gave the clock a starting and a beating.

Very few horses make the successful rise from maiden to Class 4 company, but Jomo did it with consummate ease.

By All Too Hard he is expected to get out beyond 1200m and his bold front-running style should leave him well placed moving forward.

The one concern with his effort on Sunday is that it did appear a Formula 1 race, that being very little changed in the order from the turn to the finish.

When doing the form this does appear a key negative, however the overall time suggests it is a strong piece of form.

You don't want to get too caught up on who horses beat, but moreso how they did it.

On the bare form Jomo looked to get all the favours, however when you pick apart the sectionals, his performance was still very very good.

When assessing Timeform predictive ratings, he certainly has more to come and appears more than capable of taking that next step.

Although he has led at both starts, wouldn't be surprised to see Jomo ridden with a sit when tested against better company.

There simply hasn't been a horse fast enough to lead him, though expect that to change in the future.

While he wasn't a betting proposition on Sunday, we should get our chance to back him at his next start (pending he steps up in grade).

Lee Freedman is really starting to fire and Jomo is certainly a horse we can follow with a bit of confidence.
